Comstock Records to release single overseas
INDIANAPOLIS-Teenage country and gospel recording artist Shonda Sue of Indianapolis is about to realize another dream. Comstock Records is tentatively scheduled to debut a single from Shonda Sue's Nashville project, "Girl Thang," week of May 27, 2002.

Fourteen-year-old Shonda Sue released the 10-track album June 29, 2001 after working with Dick McVey at Moonlight Recording Studio in Nashville to complete the project.

"This is very exciting for me," the artist said. She has been working toward the goal of getting her music heard on the air since she began her singing career at age 8.   The debut single, "Live While I Can," is an inspirational song about not sitting around waiting for your dreams to happen, letting your dreams rust, but instead living while you can, sleeping when you must. The song is appropriate for Shonda Sue, because she has used every opportunity she could to sing and promote her love of music.

Since she was 8, the singer has performed at fairs, festivals and a variety of other events - spending a large part of her year on the road with her family. In fact, in order to give the singer more flexibility for her career, Shonda Sue's parents offered her the opportunity to participate in a home school program.

Now Shonda Sue has more flexibility in finding time practices and performances, but schoolwork is still a priority heavily emphasized by her parents. "Sometimes I hear Shonda singing and have to ask if she's finished with her schoolwork," Kimberly Moore, her mother, said.

Music is a family affair for the Moores. Her mother books shows for her, her father Craig runs sound at her shows as well as handles the business portion of her career. Her grandparents have helped finance recording of her three independent albums. Her brother and family friends help wherever they can.
